18th Century Secret Garden to be demolished

Protesters gather in the medieval city of Salisbury to stop the felling of mature and protected trees and the destruction of a beautiful 18th century walled garden known locally as the "Secret Garden".

"The indifferent actions of the council have reduced normally quiet and peaceful citizens to bitter, deep-seated resentment."

The are due to be levelled by Salisbury District Council in advance of the contruction of a controversial glass and steel extension to their 18th century manor house headquarters.
