RUSH: The credit for the information I'm going to pass on to you is owed to Steve McIntyre.  He's a blogger.  ClimateAudit is his site. 1998 was not the hottest year on record. 1934 was. In fact, five of the top ten, I believe, I'm going to have to check this, five of the top ten warmest years on record are in the 30s, during the Dust Bowl era and so forth.
