$20 Billion Contract Up for Grabs for Mobile Companies

Under a government telecommunications contract worth at least $20 billion, the biggest-ever federal award, AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and Qwest Communications International Inc. won the right to bid on orders. Shares of Sprint, the third-biggest U.S. phone company, pared gains following the announcement.
