On occasion I have seen a mouse or two in Pahrump but nothing like this: can you imagine what 2 billion mice would look like?

I saw this in Forbes magazine on The Internet, the Chinese have a big problem with floods this year and there are mice by the millions eating everything in their way.

...An estimated 2 billion mice are ravaging crops in 22 counties around the lake, and authorities were rushing to construct walls and ditches to keep the rodents out. Residents have killed more than 2.3 million field mice - or 90 tons of the rodents, Xinhua said.

In Hunan province's Yiyang County, a ditch along the lakeshore was filled with mice. Residents were using clubs and shovels to beat them to death, while others scooped the furry animals out using fishing nets.

Thelma Jesselman, good stuff! I saw some video of this on BBC World today and it looked like something off a horror movie. Thanks for highlighting this odd and horrifying side effect of flooding.
