30 years Since the Voyager Space program was launched, could funding be better used elsewhere?

It has been exactly 30 years since the launch of Voyager 1 in 1977 atop a Titan rocket with a Centaur-6 upper stage. Still operational for 30 years, Voyager 1 is more than 103.2 astronomical units away from the Sun. Astronomers believe it has now entered the solar system's heliosheath -- the termination shock region between the sun's solar wind and interstellar space. Signals from Voyager 1 take 13 hours to reach Earth, traveling at the speed of light. But questions are being asked about whether the funding could be better used elsewhere, and president Bush has expressed an interest in cutting the voyager's funding in order to concentrate more efforts on a mission to mars. Have your say on the fate of the voayger, here: http://www.pollsb.com/polls/poll/2030/30-years-since-the-voyager-spacecraft-was-launched-bush-wants-to-pull-the-plug-on-it-in-favor-of-a-mission-to-mars
