In a few days time, we shall wakeup to another celebration of a kind…a 1st October .This time we shall be celebrating years of worrisome existence which could have been better considering the incredible natural and human resources here. For our dear nation life begins at 40 is truly a clichéd dream. This year music has been set in a low key by the ignominious herald of another plane crash, this time leaving our army structure almost dearth of generals. You need not bother mentioning the shameful bullbaiting and dogfights going on in Aso Villa. Can we continue to be unperturbed witnesses of the kind of throttling squandermania and malignant kleptomania being brazenly displayed before us? In a sense these may be small reflections of our postcolonial mirror with its attendant failure of leadership and followership. It is a setting of chaos, oppurtunisma and mediocrity.
