I went by there about two hours ago and there were still masses of people standing around looking at the blackened pit next to Eliane hair salon. The site is between Eliane and the building where Subway is, on the north side of West 10th Avenue. It is one block east of Trimble. It is completely gone! Actually I am having trouble recalling what was there. . See the importance of written history?

A massive fire on Vancouver's westside has destroyed three businesses and sent three firefighters to hospital with minor injuries.

The four-alarm blaze in the 4300 block of West 10th Avenue in Point Grey started before midnight Tuesday and took five hours to put out.

As a small update. I spoke to the restoration person who is handling this claim and he says that Eliane is going to have to move to another location because it was so damaged by the fire next door. The fire started in the basement of the Linens store because there were a bunch of varnishes and things. And everybody on the street is upset because one of the things in the building that burnt was Lee's Candies, which used to make handmade candies and had done so for a long time. When thinking of it, everyone always says 'Oh, I loved Lee's Candies". Then a moment later they all say "But the candies were so terrible". So that's kind of funny as well. But was really a fixture on the street.
