93 Buckeyes fans arrested, but school boffin blissed out

Despite an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 people outside Ohio Stadium and a record crowd of more than 105,000 watching the Buckeyes hold on to a 42-39 win, the anticipated after-game storm was more of a drizzle.

Authorities reported 93 game-related or postgame arrests but no serious injuries.

Whether it was officials’ pleas for peace, planning or the massive show of police in the Ohio State University area Saturday evening and yesterday morning, celebrants acted more responsibly this year.

"We have turned the corner on fan behavior," University President Karen A. Holbrook said in a written statement yesterday.
