A Digression on flags,flowers,vacumcleaners and the American Dream

 What can we dream. What's left. Remnants mostly. It's easy to swing wildly from optimism to dispair in America.   Yea! The constitution works. Little tyrants beyond are worst imaginings are being called on the carpet.Illegal powers are being rescinded. After unceasing failure and incompetance, unflagging manipulation and lies ,the little evil men ,those bobbleheads of corportocracy,are sitting in  a pool of their own  crap. The Dems are in Power (almost) it's a sunshiny day.

  But wait,what's that lurking in the shadows. If you put on those Raybans you can make out the outlines of say... some lobbyists.Or a media saturated with spinning lies and creating shallow values. An education system geared to churning out good technocrats. And if you listen carefully you can hear the sound of greenbacks splashing into the sea like lemmings while the middle class rolls over on its fat backside

 for the lastest round of voting on american Idol. Babylonia and Sumeria, Rome, the Dutch, The Spanish, the once Great British Empire... all came crashing down.We're following the blueprint.Who cares.  Give them bread and circuses,(Machiavelli), (or was that Karl Rove).

  The Masters of War never sleep. And so they go on there merry way, destabilizing true democracies,

fomenting discord to political ends and profits. Hooking them on the World Bank ,then going in for the kill.

   But we can hope. We can remember that for every George Bush there is a Harry Truman. For Every Richard Nixon there is a John kennedy.For every cloudy day there is some sunshine.

     My digression is complete...and so on to the photos.  The Daffodils and Flag pic really represents the sunny optimism of America,   the American Dream...but in it lies a dichotomy of sorts. there's an oily backside to it,a bright but sinster smile,  the  'good life' built on the backs of many now cheated of their place in the sun.An exspansive optimistic image fraught with many questions. And answers we really

need to know.

    The photo   titled 'That Sucking Sound' is obviously metaphorical in more ways than one. However the strongest idea that can be derived from this image is the part that the automobile culture and hence the Oil companies have played in driving us to the precipice we now occupy.
