A prediction from France: the Democrats lose on Tuesday

Let us hope that Major Tom at 5 Years Later is right:

At a time when the French newspapers operate through clearly biased anti-American articles (as if the Democrats are the opposite of the Republicans: this comes from very imperfectly knowing America) to promote the victory of the American left in Tuesday's mid-term elections, 5 Years Later wants to warn you all that these are nothing but lies, manipulation and 'bobo'-lshevik propaganda.

We'll tell you today, hours and hours prior to the elections, that the Republicans will keep control of the Congress, and will do this even if certain hawks in the Administrations have made their 'mea culpas' with respect to the U.S. strategy in Iraq.  This follows from a poll that, for the first time, gives the Republicans the edge.  Also, it should be known that the Republican 'machine' is formidable in promoting the straight party line vote and that the polls (a bit like the polls about M. Le Pen in France... even if any comparison  between the GOP and the Front National is totally fortuitous) have always 'misunderestimated' (to use a Bushism) the number of those intent on voting for the GOP.

I can tell you that the reaction of the French editorial pages Wednesday morning will be worth a detour to read.

My hope, I expressed here.
