I am a manager for Tesco. Firstly, I just want to make one point, no one is forced to shop at Tesco, if you have so much complaint about it, simply don't shop there. How boring life must be to spend time moaning about a supermarket! I have no complaint about my company, and the only bad treatment I have ever received is at the hands of customers including acts of unjustified aggression and threats of assault If any of you had the slightest idea about the work and effort that goes into providing the service to the customer at Tesco then you may think twice about the comments posted on this site. I just think that everyone is jealous of Tesco's position and no one likes to see anything successful. Why don't we celebrate a great British company.

My second point is about all these comments and dedicated websites on Tesco mispricing. Yes I admit on occasion there will be some pricing errors, either human error where a member of staff misses changing a label over or a computer error centrally. However, there are systems in place and a dedicated department to make sure prices are correct. Tesco is not intentionally over charging customers. Concerning the over charging policy, this is provided for as a gesture of good-will as way of apology for the inconvenience of being overcharged. Although it is VERY apparent that many "customers" are making a career out of this generous policy by intentionally purchasing high value products they believe will scan incorrectly. It is under these circumstances a refund may be refused by management and the "customer" banned.

Furthermore, it is well known that some criminals will intentionally swap labels around and even attempt to print their own labels to make out they have been overcharged. So if "customers" request refunds under suspicious circumstances then YES refunds should not be given out and these people banned from store.

(1) Many of the complainants here have given up shopping at Tesco and none of the operators of this site any longer shop regularly at Tesco;

(2) You suggest those complaining on here must have boring lives for complaining which should bring to your own mind a question about the quality of your own life given you are in fact complaining about people complaining;

(3) You are quite correct that any customer who interferes with price labels is committing a criminal offence (attempt/actual obtaining property/pecuniary advantage by deception contrary to the Theft Act 1968) however you seem to not appreciate the fact that Tesco's rampant mispricing (far more prevalent than any other retailer it seems) is a criminal offence of misleading price indications contrary to the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and causes much more financial loss to Tesco's overcharged customers. However if you notice the "customers" here do not refer to Tesco Managers as "criminals"; perhaps following your instruction we should now refer to Tesco and its managers as criminals?;

(4) As mentioned before we invite you to write about the bad experiences you have received at the hands of Tesco customers - we cannot appreciate your experience without you giving details;

(5) It is extremely hard to find a Great British Company nowadays if you do not measure greatness by reference to expansionism and profit alone. One of the few examples of a Great British Company with outstanding customer service is Viking Direct. Perhaps Tesco could contact them to learn about responsible corporate governance and the provision of good customer service?

If you have bought anything from Tesco that you were not happy with and did not receive the customer service support that you expected then please carry on reading.

I have come across lots of people who have bought items from Tesco and they have broken down and they have not received the support from Tesco to help them rectify the matter. I myself have had a problem with Tesco where an Item has broken down, a wall mounted TV and have been for the past couple of years trying to get it sorted with so many different promises to get the tv replaced, repaired with none of them every happening.

Tesco feel that they are a large company who do not have to worry about customer feedback or about upsetting customers as there are always other people who would go and buy there products so the people who are not happy and there are thousands of them each year, it does not matter to them as they are the biggest supermarket in the UK with the highest turnover.

The customer support I and so many other people have received has been very disgusting. What I am asking people on this forum to do is, to tell their friends about this posting and if you have had a product that you have bought from Tesco or if you have had a service from Tesco or are simply not happy about  the way you have been treated by Tesco then please join others like yourself who are making their feelings known by contacting the Chief Executive office on 01707 395150 and ask for Helen and make yourself known to them about your complaint.

We will also be arranging in the new future demonstrations around the UK about the way Tesco treat customers.

Join everyone now who is not happy with Tesco and phone the Cheif Executive office and make yourself be heard and do not let this big company get away with treating their customers in this way.

Please don't BS readers with rubbish about accidental mis-pricing. The vast majority are done deliberately by Tesco managers! And everyone has a right to complain. Tesco IS deliberately over charging customers. You work there, so you KNOW that is true, yet you blatantly lie. The "criminals" you mention HAVE NEVER happened. Whilst not condoning it, it is no wonder you get abuse when you are such a lier! Try telling the truth for once! Tesco IS THE MOST CORRUPT supermarket EVER! The only criminals are Tesco.

Your a manager and your english is below a 14 year olds? "If you have so much complaint about it" Should be "If you have so many complaints.." & you wonder why we DO have complaints about it when they're putting illiterate managers in charge.

An Avid Tesco Shopper

Can I just say that I am not associated with Tescos however as a loyal shopper, I would recommend them to anyone.  I appreciate that errors in pricing occur however its how a company rectifies these errors once they are made aware.  When I visit customer service they always refund the amount and never do I feel that they have done it intentionally.  Even when I have returned faulty goods I am treated with the same respect.

I am a great believer in 'people power' and if there are that many disatisfied customers then they should talk with their feet and bring down Tescos.  Fortunately this is not the case and there are far more satisfied customers that continue to shop with Tesco, myself included.

Having worked as a team leader in a major call centre for a number of years I can safely say that it doesn't matter how much staff training you have, some customers are never happy.  From the tone in your comments I can only imagine what you are like complaining in person.  I have always found that you achieve much more when you dont rant and rave about irrelevant points (Alicia Shut).  Maybe this page would be better put to use with information on how to complain effectively as it appears many of you could do with some assistance.

I completely agree with the Tesco manager on all points that he made, he is clearly passionate about his employer and his customers. I am sure that many of you will completely disagree with me, I'd love to spend more time arguing but I am off to go shopping...................................AT TESCOS  :-P

I have made three written complaints to Tesco because they kept delivering a complimentary copy of the Daily Mail with my order. When I wrote to them expressing my contempt for this vile rag and asking if they were taking money from the Mail in order to hawk out their fearmongering, looney, fascistic journalism, I received a BS reply from Tesco saying that they were giving no such promotion ("we hope you enjoy your complimentary copy of the Daily Mail") and that I had received another customer's order by mistake. Another order, and another copy of the offending paper. I wrote back, asking why, if I had expressed my contempt for the paper, it was delivered to me again. I have sent another letter chasing this letter. No reply. The views of their customers don't seem to matter to them at all. If anyone wishes to hear a rant about the paper's irresponsible coverage of science, health and medicine (quite aside from their contemptible politics) then I can expand on my objections to it being delivered to my door. It would seem Tesco would gladly hand out pamphlets for the BNP if they could profit from it. I am giving my business for everything, including petrol, to other companies now.

Tesco is pernicious

"no one is forced to shop at Tesco"

That's not true. Tesco has a policy of monopolisation and unfortunately it is succeeding. This means many people have no choice of where to shop because Tesco has forced every butcher, baker and candlestickmaker out of business.
