With the good weather lately, it appears that Vancouver city road crews are out in force doing repairs on the roads. Drivers revelling in the good weather should exercise caution near these areas as accidents can happen due to the convergence of traffic. One such accident happened early this afternoon today on Main Street near 27th Avenue when a motorist broadsided a Vancouver transit bus.

While it is unknown why the elderly male motorist turned into the adjacent lane while apparently three quarters of the bus was directly in front of him, it led to the motorist damaging his entire front bumper as the forward motion of the bus pulled it almost completely off of his car due to probably getting caught within the wheel well of the bus.

A good samaritan (in a red jacket) and his wife walking by quickly stepped out to aid in the removal of the debris from the road so that traffic could quickly continue on its way.
