Of course it is an advertisement.  Duh.  And I assume it will be tagged as such, or removed.  Or my contributions will be withdrawn.  If this is a "news" site, it hopefully will hold itself to some standards.

A friend of mine used to work in their customer service department of AdultFriendFinder.  He quit when he realized that Adult Friend Finder was actually a front for many prostitutes.   Obviously not ALL of their customers were in that profession, but enough were such that many, many uh, "regular" customers cancelled their accounts because they were being set up with "Professionals".  

 "I had a wonderful time tonight."

 "Yeah, great, that'll be $100."

I've used AFF on and off a few times and I've found sex partners on AFF. IN FACT, I've had far more success with meeting women on AFF than on match.com. When I was on AFF, I was at a point in my life where I didn't have time to deal with a committed relationship

The thing is there's a lot of B.S. that comes with it. When you account all the fake female profiles on AFF the M-F ratio is 40 to 1. However, once you get used to the site the fake profiles are easy to spot. Most of the fake profiles are from 3rd parties and not AFF it's self. Usually the fakers are the webcam girls or someone from a small pornsite that's collecting email addresses.

The typical REAL woman on AFF is either 18-22 y.o. or they're 38 y.o. and older. All the women I've met on AFF were in the 18-22 crowd. For some reason the women in the 18-22 crowd don't use profile photos, but I guess that's because they're just not that pretty. The older women I've talked to on AFF will usually disappear or stop replying to emails after a couple of emails. I think the older women on AFF are just having too much fun with the site and meeting people online to really care about serious real life meeting.

My biggest problem with AFF is that I was harassed by homosexual and bisexual men. I would always get emails from these guys (and that's okay because AFF had email filters), but a few of the homosexuals would harass me in the chatrooms. What would happen is they'd IM me, than I'd tell them NO, then they would continue by inserting lewd and crude comments into the IM. Once you block them, they'll use the chatroom to try to keep their attempt going. I asked the last Homosexual male whom IMed me why they're so much interested in strait guys and he told me: Alot of the strait guys on AFF are in the closet, and he usually finds a strait male partner for a real life meeting on a weekly basis.

The site is pretty good if you're interested in having sex with a guy (strait female, bimale, or gay male)! I you're into women (strait male, bi female, or lesbian) it's not so easy. It's still better than match.com because there is far more user freedom (even though AFF has taken some of that user freedom away). The other reason AFF beats match.com is because the AFF isn't loaded with cherry-pickers who want to marry a doctor or the next Bill Gates. In addition, I think match.com could take a few lessons from AFF in attracting members with useable benefits that come with a site. An IM system is worth far more to users than advice from a book author.
