Through the eyes of his poems a young poet looks back on the past , tracks the present and tries to find his place within the future mirrored by chants emanating from a miscellany of inquisition. Words from a Poem to its Creator is Okenyodo's first collection of delicate poems that are centered about his craft, religion, philosophy, love, and the state of the Nigerian nation and circle around problems of relationships; the poet and the Muse, the poet and his changing world, and the poet in vulnerable relationships that form amongst friends in ethno- religious divides and other matters that have engaged his mind. He is by no means a greenhorn, having been a protégé of Mu'azu Maiwada who is undoubtedly one of the best creative writers the north has produced, as well as having been published in many anthologies of note , including the forthcoming "Camouflage " which he co-edited with Nduka Otiono.
