Making Connections is a blog intended to share perspectives and best practices from the Nu Millennium Network
of youth, media practitioners, researchers and educators involved in
digital media, civic journalism and arts education in schools and the
community. This project is the combined effort of several performers,
media artists, educators, community activists, college students and
urban residents (from various groups & community-based
organizations) who appreciate the importance of independently produced
media and diverse forms of cultural and community expression (murals,
poetry, dance, improv, music, documentary etc). Our monthly event Word Sound Life
(coming again soon in Chicago, the Bay Area and Long Beach), co-presented by the Afromerican Project, welcomes
individuals and organizations interested in multimedia cultural
performances, popular education seminars, and digital media language
workshops.
