Al Gore on the new Yahoo Current,

Four broadband channels, each consisting of a combination of professionally produced and viewer-contributed content. For Yahoo Current Buzz -- see Yahoo's Buzz Index for a hint of what this will be. We brought Madeleine Smithberg on board for this channel -- she's a co-creator of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show." Yahoo Current Action will offer sports programming. Yahoo Current Driver will be an auto destination. And Yahoo Current Traveler is our travel channel. That will include video postcards submitted by viewers, as well as Bono's directorial debut with a video he recently made -- I've seen it, it's very interesting and very funny.

Does "Air America" come to mind?

If this "Current" effort wasn't community content fed, Al Gore's media mogul aspirations would end up like the bankruptcy of "Air America".

Most "current" content makers of value do not submit their work to "current" because of repressive contractual terms and their tendency to only utilize fluffy bullshit when hard news is available to them.

Current TV has recently experienced a mass exodux of the channel's work horses... those who've done the work to make the channel viable have quit in mass over the editorial hypocracy of this fake ass alternative to mainstream media.

Soooo ... There is hope that Current will add up to an Air America success and result.

The only true leftist media moguls should come from Hollywood and the MSM (CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC, NY/LA Times, Reuters, and etc.). We don't need no blinking interlopers like Gore, Sorros, and Progressive Insurance's Lewis!
