The DugOut had to take a moment away from the lead up the SuperBowl, and give a shout-out to historic Yankee Stadium.  While not a Yankee fan, the DugOut respects the stadium, and thinks this a great way to say goodbye before it drifts off into memory. The 2008 All-Star game will be held in NYC, and Yankee Stadium for the final year of its use.

This is certainly one of the most famous and iconic stadiums in the world.  When people think of New York in the summer they think of heading to see the Yankees, and those stands have witnessed Babe Ruth for Christ Sakes!

This will be the fourth All-Star Game in the Bronx ballpark once known as "The House That Ruth Built" and the eighth time that New York City has hosted the game. The Polo Grounds, home of the old New York Giants, held the game in 1934 and 1942; Ebbets Field, home of the old Brooklyn Dodgers, was the site in 1949, and Shea Stadium, home of the Mets, hosted the 1964 Midsummer Classic.

New stadiums for the Yankees and Mets are expected to be ready for Opening Day 2009, prompting Selig to use next year's game as a stage to pay tribute to a place "the cathedral."

Even Selig couldn't screw up by having the '08 All-Star game at Shea.
