All things fried tried at Orange County Fair

Town of Wallkill - There were the old fair standbys, from cotton candy to racks of barbecued meat. Fresh squeezed lemonade moved briskly, and tubes of fruit smoothies rolled from a collapsible shack near the petting zoo.

But on a stainless steel countertop, dressed in powdered sugar and chocolate syrup, sat one food creation no one was buying, at least not yet: A deep-fried Hostess chocolate creme cupcake.
