Amtrak cancels Acela service due to brake problems

Apparently, the Acela train's brakes which were supposed to last the life of
the train are cracking after just three to five years. I was stuck in Boston for a few hours
yesterday as all the Acela passengers packed the regional trains. Amtrak
claims it will be months before all the trains are repaired and back in normal
service.

This is another blow for the beleaguered train company which the Republican
controlled congress will surely use to further their argument against the
company.
