From Vancouver Plus:
Yes, the Marine Club really is a Merchant Marine
Club, but you have to climb up a flight of stairs and buzz to get in.
Once inside, you'll find yourself in a room very much like a long and
narrow ship's cabin, with nautical items on the light wood-grained
walls. Tables are tightly packed, and you can actually listen to the
tinkling of an old piano at one end of the room with minimal
interference from live music coming from a stage at the other end.
Performers include rootsy and rockabilly acts to a funky jam on
Wednesdays. You have to be right near the stage to enjoy the best
sound, and on a crowded night, movement is cumbersome, so your best bet
is to come early and park yourself in a prime spot.
