Angola will have history on their minds when they meet former colonial rulers Portugal in a Group D match on Sunday. Portugal have worries over playmaker Deco, injured in a training ground accident that saw him collide with teammate Costinha.

Commerzbank Arena. Host team, Germany, has opened the tournament in

Munich (the capital of Bavaria) against Costa Rica. On the first day, the host Germany won 4-2 over Costa Rica... While Ecuador defeated Poland 2-0.

Yesterday, England defeated Paraguay 1-0 without actually scoring a goal.

Sweden was not only tested, but th efavorites had their hands full with Trinidad & Tobago. The game ended in a stalemate 0-0 tie..

And in the late game of the day Argentina did a bit of a flop, but beat a tough Ivory Coast team 2-1...

This was another low scoring affair as Portugal scored very early but only once to beat Angola 1-0.  Angola looked fragile on offense and was unable to mount any kind of real attack.  However, the heavily favored Portugese team had trouble producing points, and missed a few golden scoring opportunities. 

Final Score: Portugal 1 - Angola 0
