Ankara, Ephesus, Constantinople/Istanbul

Having mentioned the Bollettino in the last post, it reminded me that I had planned to look today, since I had seen elsewhere that the Holy Father's 'programma' was released for the apostolic visit to Turkey.  I see no surprises: the official audiences in Ankara to the Turkish president, the vice-premier (since Mr Erdogan is off somewhere in northern Europe being otherwise occupied), the minister for religious affairs, the diplomatic corps.  Ephesus for Holy Mass (presumably this is at or near our Lady's House; I suppose I find it rather surprising that this is not noted: perhaps the bishops don't visit there 'officially') and then to Constantinople/Istanbul to meet with the Ecumenical Patriarch, celebrate the divine Liturgy, visit 'the museum' of the Hagia Sophia, give audiences to the the other religious leaders, and meet and sup with the Catholic bishops.  Holy Mass on the 1st December in the Catholic cathedral of the Holy Ghost and then the return to Rome.  Ankara, Ephesus, Constantinople/Istanbul: a quick 'long' weekend.
