The Hon. Alannah MacTiernan, MLA Minister for Planning & Infrastructure

Welcome to our website.

Science is clearly showing us that climate change will change our planet and civilisation as we know it unless we can change directions rapidly.

WA has the highest greenhouse gas emissions per capita in the world, due to our resource heavy industrial economy.

This has to change if we are to protect the environment as we know it for future generations.

If we all apply ourselves to the task – we can do this!

Professor Andris Stelbovics

Deputy Vice Chancellor Research

Murdoch University is delighted to be working in partnership with the WA Government and people of WA to tackle innovatively the critically important issue of the future sustainability of our State.

If we can successfully harness the community’s scientific expertise, together with people’s practical wisdom, we have a real opportunity to address the hazards of global warming in our State.

We welcome you to our initiative. Together we can make a difference.

The Western Australian Government, in partnership with Murdoch University, is pioneering a community engagement initiative to find out what the community, government and industry are prepared to do to reduce oil dependency and the impacts of climate change.
