Anthony Hopkins Returns Home For 70th Bash

Sir Anthony Hopkins has spoken about his plans for a rare visit to his home town of Port Talbot to celebrate his 70th birthday later in the year.

Family and friends of the actor, who now lives in California, have been invited to the party on New Year's Eve.

He has been an infrequent visitor to Wales in recent years having become a US citizen seven years ago.

Guests include Richard Burton's brother Graham Jenkins and his wife, brought up in the same village as Sir Anthony.

The actor revealed details of the planned bash in an interview with the Seattle Post to promote the new film he has directed - Slipstream.

"I'm going back (to south Wales) later this year to celebrate my 70th birthday," he told the newspaper.
