Antonio Festa: collecting butterflies for an ethical living and a micro - financing credit project
A butterflies collection can be able to promote ethical living and 3rd World support: the italian Antonio Festa is a young man with the passion of butterflies world since he was 4 years. He isn't a normal kind of collector that animal activists will detest: with an autofinancial project, he buys butterflies from State of the Third World of Africa,Asia and South America in some breeding where species in surplus are present and saved. These organizations help biosphere to find a balance and with 1 or 2 dollars, Antonio can buys helps local communities to financial supports. So, it's become a microcredit financing project.
Now, Antonio Festa goes around his land, the Irpinia ( South Italy) organizing public expo and schools meeting for children improving an awareness campaign for environment, In addiction he sells also gadgets and bijoux about butterflies made by artists of the places where he buys the examples of them.
In this moment, Antonio Festa collects about 1.000 different kinds of butteflies - It's a work in progress just at the beginning - he tells me - butterflies in the world are present in 165.000 different tipologies but,however I possess at least one butterfly for each classification.

I really like this story, groudy. You make the important connection with environmentally-sustainable activities, and support mechanisms in developing countries. I realize some environmentalists might be worried about whether there are controls so that species at risk are protected, but I am assuming this concern has been dealt with. And a young boy who inspires others - that is a rare thing indeed.

thanks for your considerations Mark, I'm really fashinating by this project too and the example on Antonio show us how can be easy have a passion that can be a good fact for helping people and world... I hope to everyone to visit an expo as the ones of his, the emotion of have a butterfly in your hand is so pretty :-)
