Antony Waterlow, 42, is the prime suspect in the Randwick killings: the murder of his father, curator Nick Waterlow, and Chloe Waterlow, Antony Waterlow's younger sister. Chloe Waterlow's three children were also in the house where the two victims were discovered; Ruby, Antony's two-year-old niece, was taken to hospital with neck injuries; police believe that he grabbed Ruby to provoke Nick and Chloe, and the situation spiraled out of control from there.. Police are urging Antony Waterlow to turn himself in for questioning as soon as possible. Prior to the the November 10 murders, Antony Waterlow had been in some sort of dispute with his family over an inheritance. Unprovoked, he is not considered an immediate danger to the public, though he's considered a suicide risk.

I went to grad school with Antony Waterlow in 1998-2000, and met Chloe at a party, and I'm absolutely shocked to read about this. Antony struck us all as a bit odd, but bear in mind that in drama school that's not particularly rare. We all liked him, and nobody in our class would think him capable of violence at all, never mind murder. After finishing the course, Antony dropped out of touch with his classmates, and last I heard he was living somewhere in Sydney. I had heard nothing from or about him in around 8 or 9 years, even when I was in Sydney, until I read the news this morning.

Evidently Antony Waterlow had some issues with schizophrenia, which manifested itself more and more as he got older. Apparently he tried to deal with it by drinking and doing drugs, but the condition was only exacerbated by heavy drinking and drug use, according to an ex-girlfriend. Antony had several run-ins with the police, and had punched a female patron in a Sydney pub.

As the families make arrangements for funerals, friends and former associates of Antony Waterlow spoke of their shock and distress.

Arts patron Gene Sherman said years ago Mr Waterlow approached her about getting his son, then in his late teens, a part-time job at the then Sherman Galleries in Paddington. ''He was drop-dead good looking,'' Dr Sherman said. ''Other than that he blended in.''

Nick Waterlow was a curator Witnesses saw a man of Antony's description leaving the scene- he's a pretty singular-looking guy with what you'd call movie-star looks.

A man matching his description - 42 years old, tall, dark, wavy hair - had been seen leaving the Clovelly Road home in which the bodies of Chloe and Nick Waterlow were found by police soon afterwards.

IN A moment of clarity after the murders of his father and sister, Anthony Waterlow called an
associate and allegedly said he had done a "bad thing".

The 42-year-old is believed to be hiding in Sydney and police, who fear he may harm himself, said they were in a race against time to find him.

The funeral for Nick Waterlow will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral, adjacent to Hyde Park, and is scheduled for Friday, November 20 at 11am.

Hi, as the "ex" mentioned above there is a lot more to my story which I do not want to divulge any further to anybody, especially at this stage, as it is intensely personal. The reason I sent my story to the paper was because I was saddened and angry. No doubt this is a tragedy.  I hope more awareness is brought to people with mental illness, that something is learnt from this.
