The leaders of 21 APEC member countries have promised to give full support to Indonesia as president of the 13rd Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to be held in Bali December 2-14, 2007.

The commitment of the leaders attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum was indicated in a draft declaration on climate change, energy security and clean development, Antara correspondent in Sydney said in his report on Saturday.

The declaration will be officially issued by the leaders of APEC on the last day of their 15th summit at the Sydney Opera building on Sunday (Sept 9).

Australian Prime Minister John Howard as the summit`s host and the 19 other leaders said they agreed to include the issue on climate change in a "Sydney Declaration" as an international consensus in the face of global warming.

In the draft declaration, the leaders of APEC member countries said some of those involved in UNFCCC agreed to work effectively and constructively toward enacting regulation in the run up to the year 2012.
