Yesterday on Friday, February 10th, on the corner Robson and Granville a number of people gathered to protest the Fur-Industry. Their protest focused in particular on the fact that the United States has banned the trade of dog and cat fur products in 2002, whereas Canada still allows it.
According to the Humane Society of the United States, every year more than forty million animals are killed for their fur. Animals suffer and die so that people can wear them as fashion. The use of small strips of trim fur has become popular and more than ever it is time for people to speak out and become aware of the senselessness of killing and torturing animals for a clothing-accessory.
