After serving for two years in Iraq and Germany, an Army sergeant who
had returned home to Brooklyn for a rare visit was shot to death early
yesterday as he and two of his brothers walked out of a neighborhood
nightclub, the police said.

The police would not say exactly what
led to the shooting, but family members said it sprang from a trivial
dispute outside Ambiance, a Haitian nightclub and restaurant at 9413
Avenue L in Canarsie. Relatives said Sgt. Terrence Balkissoon, 25,
accidentally bumped into a woman outside the club at 5:20 a.m., setting
off a fight with a man who claimed to be the father of her children.
