In April, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons said the recording and broadcast industries should consistently ban three racial and sexist epithets from all so-called clean versions of rap songs and the airwaves. Expressing concern about the “growing public outrage” over the use of such words in rap lyrics,Simmons said the words “b@#ch,”"ho” and “ni@*er” should be considered “extreme curse words.” Well thats great for Russell Simmons who is busy trying to buy respectability after practically destroying the inner city making pimping and drug dealing so cool that our prisons and morgues are full to capacity with black men. And not to mention the way Russell’s Hip Hop has treated women. Its hilarious that the other day he said rappers should stop saying ho and ni@#a. Stop the world and let me get the f@*# off. The other day he said that our next president should apologize to the world. Maybe he should look up all the moms who were direct victims of the hip hop culture and apologize to them because all his money cant buy him forgiveness. At least his brother Rev Run realized it and became a reverend. It still might not be enough to save their souls .
The Rev. Al Sharpton, who has challenged the entertainment industry on denigrating lyrics, on Monday supported a state senator’s idea to pull public investments from companies that won’t clean up their act.
Holding the entertainment industry accountable will be a primary goal of the newest chapter of Sharpton’s National Action Network, said the activist minister, who announced the formation of the Buffalo-Niagara branch while in town to address a convention of black criminal justice professionals.
Roughly $3 billion from New York’s state pension fund is invested in the entertainment industry, according to state Sen. Antoine Thompson, who requested an inventory of entertainment industry investments from the state comptroller earlier this year.
So its taken these guys 30 years to jump into action and tell us what words should be used, who should say them, and who shouldnt.(is the room starting to spin?) What a team, i say we should ban some more words.
1. chico ( how blacks refer to latinos instead of saying spic)
2. f@!#*# ( oh that was banned by the gays already)
3. bomb ( something that is considered popular or visually pleasing)
4. chillin ( Relaxing )
5. buggin’ ( actions in a manner which is considered to be not socially acceptable in a group of homies )
6. chronic ( marijuana )
7.fronting ( attempting to start a quarrel )
8.tha shiznit (the best or a very potent herb )
9.try-fo-lin (that’s stupid or lacking significance )
10 word up ( got that straight, thats right or how’s it going )
Ok maybe Russel had something to do with the Beastie Boys and he is a great business man, but lately he has been kissing ass everywhere. The truth is he caved in so fast to the language police that he has stabbed Hip Hop in the back. What is Hip Hop without
these words. He sold his interests in music and now doesn”t give a shit about all the HipHop artists who will be denied the use of these money making words. He is a pussy like most black fathers who hang around for a couple of years and when they get tired of mom who is a Ho anyway and leaves HipHop. He married that crazy Kimora and turned into a vegan. there are no vegan rappers. You could see it coming he did a John Lennon.
shes like a tall Yoko.I was watching Runs House the other day and that family is whiter than the Cosby”s. I like Run and he is a great father but he is still whiter than Cosby. And Bill Cosby is angry. Cosby’s ire is focused at the African-American community: its rates of juvenile delinquency, its parenting, the coarse language of its youth. You can do better, he exhorts his audiences. Don’t let yourself be victims, and especially don’t let the poorest in the community let themselves be victims.he doesn’t care who knows it. Some of his critics have attacked him for airing what they see as the black community’s dirty laundry in public. Others said that Cosby should also be condemning establishment institutions that, in their view, helped create the situation.
“Judgment of the people in the situation is not helpful. How can you help them is the question,” said Russell Simmons. well there just words. By the way there is one more phrase i would like banned=peace out (goodbye )
