ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons.

Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear “bunker-busters”, according to several Israeli military sources.

The attack would be the first with nuclear weapons since 1945, when the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Israeli weapons would each have a force equivalent to one-fifteenth of the Hiroshima bomb.

Under the plans, conventional laser-guided bombs would open “tunnels” into the targets. “Mini-nukes” would then immediately be fired into a plant at Natanz, exploding deep underground to reduce the risk of radioactive fallout.

“As soon as the green light is given, it will be one mission, one strike and the Iranian nuclear project will be demolished,” said one of the sources.

No one should be surprised that Israel has plans in place to take
out Iranian nuclear facilities. I’m certain that the US does as well.
The existence of contingency plans against an enemy that has promised
anihilation to the Jewish state, The US, and UK are no great secret.

The release of this information, however, is one more piece of the
“surge” and re-thinking of the overall posture in the War on islamic
fascism. Recognizing Israel as an official ally and participant in the
struggle carries certain risks with so-called moderate Arabs. Not
recognizing the allied participation of Israel, howver, risks further
alienation and marginalization by those who would be happy to see
Israel driven into the sea. Hizballah’s actions in Lebanon, their
direct support by Iran, and recent intelligence “smoking guns”
revealing Iran’s complicity in Iraq come at a price. A terrible price.

If not now, when?  Better Iran than us.
