The Atlanta Dogwood Festival celebrates its 70th anniversary this year with some new music and art acts as well as the juried art selection that's set the beloved festival apart over the decades. The festival, which has drawn more than 400,000 visitors in the past, will return to Piedmont Park today through Sunday. The event was created in 1936 as a way to celebrate the blooming of the area's native dogwood trees and has grown to be one of the biggest arts and music festivals in the nation.
