Australians on verge of allowing human cloning

The Australian Senate seems to be prepared to pass a bill that would permit somatic nuclear cell transfer i.e. cloning, unfortunately.  The Australian indicates that "if the bill passes through the Senate, it is certain to win approval in the House of Representatives".  The law, if enacted, would lift the present ban on such crimes.  Indeed, "critics baulk at the creation of human life for research purposes": it is gravely immoral to allow even the youngest of human beings to be used as so much biological material for experimentation.
