…bangalore’s metro rail is a much
awaited solution for its traffic issues… with the growing population of
bangalore, silicon city of india, it just could not cope up with its
ever growing traffic issues… more population means everything … it has
a direct link with almost every elements in our nature… traffic and
pollution are just two… there were several discussion on fighting
against the on growing traffic issues… suggestions were lot, but no
implementations… there were thoughts about mono rail, underpasses,
flyovers and metro rail…

and finally the metro rail project has
started… one of the route plan for the metro rail is from indiranagar
to mysore road junction… and m g road comes in the middle of this
route… m g road is one of the landmark road of bangalore along with
brigade road just crossing each in perpendicular… it is the central
business district and the most happening place of bangalore… side by
the m g road there is a boulevard with a lot of trees and lot of
greenery … people still walk along the boulevard in the evening and get
a glimpse of the buzzy evening of bangalore… now the concern for us is
the boulevard and the trees… it is learned that the bangalore metro
rail will lay its rail lines throughout this boulevard … the project
has already started… the boulevard was partly destroyed… and here come
some n g o in action…

… people are ok with the project but at
the same time it is not really worth to cut down those trees and
destroy the boulevard… we are protesting to stop destroying the
boulevard… it is really a true picturesque site of m g road, which will
be a past very soon… in this global worming age, when we need to do
more plantation for a better future, healthy atmosphere, it is a
absolute no-no to cut down the trees… we are not against the
development, but we are here to protect the trees… what is your ’say’ ??

nice one. I appreciate your concern for the environment. Lets hope the boulevard springs back to its original sheen after the metro is laid.

i think the boulevard is already broken down isnt it??

and now, the RV road trees are in danger. the beautiful canopy that goes along the road right till south end cirlce is going to get screwed. can we trust the metro in using their brains and smartly pruning the trees??

I agree...just for this project they've cut down trees everywhere, and for widening the roads near the ring road too they've cut down trees like nobodys business! I mean the metros coming up...theres no need to widen the roads now. As it is they've cut down trees for this project to solve our traffic problems and now they're cutting down trees to widen the road?!?!... Looks like they just want to get rid of the trees!

Looks like they want to make the uncomfortable weather of Bangalore exactly like that of Chennai, IMHO.
