Bangalore remains calm

Bangalore, 15 July: Even as the Australian and United Kingdom Police are investigating the Bangalore connection to the failed UK terror attacks, life in Bangalore is calm except for the media people. The national and local media here has been after the relatives of the accused. For the past one week major electronic media and tabloids team has parked their vans not far from the residence of the alleged terrorists' relatives. Some jounos were also seen trying to get the "best shots" of what happened within the Ahmed's and Khafeel's residence.  

Though most media houses stick on to the terror plot the common man is too busy to bother whether the alleged terrorists are really what the law enforcing agencies claimed. Even news of Haneef's possible bail in Australia fails to bother Bangaloreans who are living upto their "calm and responsible life".

"I'm not saying that some terrorist should carryout bomb attack against anybody, but the involvement of some misguided people who happens to be from Bangalore should not affect our daily life. Let's get back to the calm and responsible life of our own, " said Mr Prasanth who works with a major IT company.

Reflecting the Bangalore spirit of minding one's own business Ms Subhalakhsmi, a housewife, from East Bangalore, said, " I am too busy too bother about the issue. Let the officials who deal with this do their  job. I have a job of my own-running my house."  

The reputation of the Silicon Valley of India - which is home to major IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, etc- receives a set back when the UK and Australian police accuse the Bangalore based Ahmed brothers and Khafeel of having planned to blow up Glasgow Airport on June 30. However, life in the city is normal with all the Bangalore flavour. People continue to party late night,  amidst the television news channels making up 'Exclusive Stories' on the possible terror links.  

Meanwhile, Australian police officials has arrived at Bangalore to seek the cooperation of the Indian police to solve the case. The state government of Karnataka is in touch with the Union Home ministry, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy said. The state police are trying to retrieve data stored in Kafeel's computer for possible clues to the terror plot.
