BC Place Dome Collapses

The roof on BC Place, a landmark in downtown Vancouver since 1983, has collapsed. First reports have indicated that there appeared to be a 40-foot rip in the roof, causing the collapse. One worker who happened to be on the inside of the building in a safe place at the time of the collapse said it sounded like a thunderous herd of elephants. Rumour has it, to replace a building of that stature and construction, it would cost something in the ballpark of 175 million!
Luckily, there have been no reports of injury.
Stay tuned to Now Public for updates and pictures of the changed skyline of downtown Vancouver.
