The BCHL Nanaimo Clippers defeated the Cowichan Valley Capitals in a fast paced game Sunday afternoon at the Frank Crane Arena. The final score was Nanaimo Clippers seven, Cowichan Capitals one. The Nanaimo Clippers are hot right now. There has been some shuffling of players and it looks like they have found their winning formula. Newcomer to the Clippers, Ius, scored a hat trick and was also named first star of the game.
The Nanaimo Clippers scored two unanswered goals in the first period. Cowichan Capitals answered with their lone goal in the third. The Clippers then proceeded to pump five more into the Capitals' goal.
Few penalties were called in the game. Players seems to focus on the game and as a result the game was fast paced with few stoppages due to penalty calls.
Nanaimo Clippers hockey team will be looking to extend their winning streak when it hosts the Meritt Centennials at the Frank Crane Arena on Wednesday, November 18.
