April 14, 2007 Texas - It was a day to confront my phobias: acrophobia, claustrophobia, pyrophobia, even triskaidekaphobia. As an anxiety-ridden participant in the Houston Fire Department's first media training class, I can report that I overcame my fear of heights by rappelling down a five-story tower, closed-in spaces by crawling into a railroad car and fire by entering a blazing building.
