Bhopal is the place were one of the biggest manmade tragidies occured in 1984.Almost  more than 5000 people died.MIC gas leaked from an american multinational company. The head of the company UNION CARBIDE has been declared a fugitive by the Indian Government.

The people of Bhopal are still fighting with Union Carbide for Justice.Even today thousands are suffering from the illeffect of the poisnous gas leakage. The head of the company Warren Anderson is no where to be seen.

The city is still facing environmetal  and other problems due to this.

shariqueniazi, this seems like an interesting story -and the pictures are great. However consider these points:

  • make the current event more prominent - perhaps lede with that or put it in the second sentence - relevance is the key to news.
  • what are the specific problems?
  • how are they fighting for justice?
  • tell us more about the city. how many people live there etc.
  • check out our j-tips for more guidance.

thanks for your post, it's Good Stuff.

what a terrible tragedy. It is so awful that the media tends to move on after the initial story is over. Here it is 23 years later and there are still really troubling things that the people there are suffering due to the disaster. I think it is sick that there hasn't been adequate redress from Union Carbide. Is there a movement there to seek redress? I'd be interested to know what the scene is locally in that regard.
