Belfast comes out on top of UK alcohol consumption

Just think, Belfastians: If you never touched a pint, you could put yourself through Grad School. But then, if one can't drink a pint or two, how does one get through Grad School?
A survey says that people living in Northern Ireland's capital will, on average, spend £47,568 on alcohol in their lifetime.The survey, by alcohol rehabilitation website www.pcpluton.com, said the student town of Cambridge came out second in the tipsy town tally.
There, people will spend £40,939 on booze between birth and death.
Falling in behind Belfast and Cambridge are Leeds, Leicester and Manchester.

Alcohol Consumption, is becoming more of a scourge than ever ! And you don't need to over drink either ! Many of us recovering alcoholics, who've never been drunk, never out of work, never sick, never bingeing, are paying dearly for the rest of our remaining years, because of what we all thought was moderate drinking.
As of last February /09, New Canadian Medical Information was released, stating that moderate drinking of hard/stiff drinks must now be no more than 1-2 per week ! Where as in my era, it was 1-2 per day !
Currently there are five most common health afflictions, solely caused from moderate drinking, and they are in no particular order either:
-Grand Mal Seizures -Rapidly Progressive Blindness -Rapidly Progressive Deafness -Rapidly Corroded Livers -Heart Attacks
None carry any forewarning signs, nor are there any cures at this time !
Our youth must be warned, prior to starting this ludicrous behaviour !! Otherwise, well, just look at it this way..................When all us old sods have been dropped off at Nursing Homes, to be spoon fed & diaperred.....Who do you think is going to take over all our many Professions, if our youth have already destroyed their own health and futures ? Hmmm ??
If my late husband & I had known what lay in wait for us both, after 30 yrs of healthy happy careers, only from drinking............... Well, let's just say, he'd still be here with me now !!
