BetaSpace Demolished! Why is This So Fascinating?

I found some images of the BetaSpace being demolished. This was the old section of the campus at Simon Fraser University Surrey, which was dreadful, and (not to put too fine a point on it) had the windowless basement mall feel of a second-hand pantyhose department. 

Frequented for a long time by many (although not by me for very long really), this area has just been replaced by the amazing new building by architect Bing Thom. Everyone is greatly relieved.

In any event I found these images of the area being demolished and thought they were just fascinating. It makes me realize that I have never seen images of a workplace that I had any connection to being demolished. I think there could be a vibrant aftermarket for such a thing, aimed at disgruntled employees...
