Welcome to the BighouseArt.com profile! I am the owner of BighouseArt.com which is a prison advocacy website that helps prisoners support themselves and their families through their artistic talents. While everyone is interested in reducing crime, most people never stop to consider that eventually most inmates will be back on the street, maybe even living in their neighborhood. Whether these have developed a work ethic or even the skills to make it in ‘the world’ is not something that most people think about. BighouseArt.com works with prisoners to give them a sense of pride in their abilities while allowing them to feel that they are able to assist with their own, and their families’ support through the sale of their artwork. Also, because these inmates do not want to lose their art privileges by being placed in the ‘hole’, they tend to work hard to remain ‘case’ free so that they are allowed to retain their precious art supplies.
