A warning from U.S. authorities that an armed man wanted for murder might be heading to Canada caused guards at all four major B.C. border crossings to walk off the job Sunday creating traffic chaos for thousands of travellers.

They have refused to work 7 or 8 times over the past year because of safety concerns.
