i was out searching for a particular coach wallet for taka’s birthday. i went to macy’s and robinson’s may because they were close by and convenient. neither of them had the specific one i was looking for so i went to the coach store in manhattan villiage and damn, such night and day. i rarely find myself in those uppity stores, but the attention, politeness and cuteness of those girls is off the hook. they don’t second guess my ability to afford things in there, they make small compliments and they act real friendly. in japan this is the way that most clerks act in almost any kind of store, even their equivalent wal-mart, but for me, here, it’s a nice change of pace. too bad i’m not rich :$
