UK business academics meet this September to destroy the myth that intellectuals are bad for business.

The 2007 Conference for Individual & Organisational Development is to be held in Sheffield. Developing the theme of Integral Excellence, leading business researchers and developers will be sharing the latest thinking that will drive the business growth agenda for the next decade.

Business leaders & managers will be urged to dump their fixation with consultancy boutique 'faddism' and 'magic bullets' and move towards developing deep integral skills in leadership and sense making. The future of organisations can no longer be entrusted to managerial technocrats and their dated analytical management science agenda. A profound sea change is taking place in the minds and behaviours of employees, consumers, and citizens that 'analytical managers' are simply incapable of responding to, and many don't even see.

And the soft 'post-modern' under belly of academia? Well, any one who has been successful in organisations knows, all things don't have an equal voice, people know that some things work and other don't and you need to have the conviction to take a decisive position. Relativism is 'navel-gazer ism'

Not interested? then just pass it off as something on periphery and wait until your rivals show you what its all about.
