RUSKIN - Boaters and manatee advocates are gearing up for a fight on a plan to extend a slow-speed manatee protection zone in south Hillsborough County.

Sept. 21, the county will hold a public hearing on whether to mandate a slow speed, minimum wake zone from the mouth of the Little Manatee River to the Manatee County line.
