Several buildings were evacuated this morning at the Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. Though no official statement has been released, eye witness accounts from the scene indicate that there was a suspicious package discovered in the Baker Systems Engineering Building.
None of the police officers I spoke to would give me any additional information, but a local news site is reporting that the bomb squad was called in and detonated the package at around 11:20am. By noon most of the yellow tape had been removed, but as of 10 minutes ago there were still police cars surrounding the north entrance to Baker Systems. That entrance alone remains cordoned off.
Attached are photographs from the scene. I wrote a more fragmented play-by-play article <a href="">here</a> at my <a href="http://darkside.newsvine.com/_news/2007/07/10/828514-breaking-news-bomb-scare-at-osu">newsvine.com</a> column.
