This is an email all Simon Fraser University students have just received:

Please be advised that SFU Security received a bomb threat at
approximately 12:15 pm today from an anonymous caller. SFU Security
and Burnaby RCMP are on-site and investigating. No further
information is currently available.

SFU Security is requesting that employees inspect their work areas
and report any suspicious packages or activities immediately to
campus security at 604-291-4500.

Updates will be posted to the SFU home page, www.sfu.ca, and
delivered via e-mail as new information becomes available.

If you are an SFU student please send us any information you may have on security issues on your campus.

I just got this update from Don MacLachlan, Director, Public Affairs and Media Relations:

"Police and SFU Security now have completed their sweep of the Burnaby campus and have found nothing to substantiate the bomb threat that was phoned in at about 12:15 pm. RCMP remain on-site to assist us.  A further update will follow if necessary."
