Doing more snoozing than shagging these days?

Only one per cent of Canadian baby boomers are having sex daily, according to a Strategic Objectives survey released yesterday. And they're not replacing the shagging with snuggling; only 39 per cent kiss and hug their partner daily, and 15 per cent say they don't kiss or hug their partner at all.

That may be the real problem, says Colorado-based psychologist and marriage counsellor David Schnarch.

"So many people have become alienated from each other," Schnarch, author of several books on sex, marriage and relationships, said yesterday.

Many couples, Schnarch said, discover a lack of true intimacy in their 40s, 50s and 60s that acts as more of a barrier to intercourse than any physical dysfunction. Up to 59 per cent of boomers claim they're too tired to make it, but Scharch doesn't buy that.
