"Branded Man"

What exactly does Freedom mean to you you? Freedom is much more than just another word for nothing left to loose. I have reached out to the people of the United States on the behave of Onis M. Kelley, A Prisonor of the Jefferson County Correctional Institute In Pine Bluff Arkansas. He has been in Prison for the last 7 years, I know now you ask what was the Crime that He was Convicted of, that seems to always be the issue. He has consistantly claimed his innocense, and never once backed away to let them say otherwise. In August of 1999, Onis M. Kelley a native of Ashley County Arkansas accompanied his youngest Son Jesse, and Several other People to a Niteclub in Bastrop La. They went down there to have some fun and dance. At 4:30am they started back to Monticello Ar, they all lived there or close by, Jesse and the other young Man decided to ride with their lady friends back to Monticello, Deanna was left to ride with Onis M. Kelley, just as it says in the Transcript. They made a stop at the E-Z Mart store just before leaving Bastrop La, then they were back on their way to Monticello Ar, which is at least 1hour and 30 minutes away. The report says that they took a different route back toward Monticello, Instead of going through Hamburg, they turned an went through Crossett Ar, on the road between Bastrop La , and Crossett Ar, Deanna George Claims that Onis M. Kelley stopped , which he does'nt disagree that he stopped to use the rest room , she claims that he repeatedly raped her for 1hour and 30minutes, but yet they still reached Monticello Ar, at 6:am . Remember , they left the NightClub at 4:30am, and she was suppose to have been raped repeatedly for an hour and a half, and still arrived at their destination an hour and a half after they left the Club.

In my research across the internet, it is said that 1 out of every 5 claims of Rape are false.This one false claim of Rape has cost this Man 7 years of his life, that is 7 years that he will never be able to claim again.He went up before the Arkansas Parole Board on July 17th of this year and was denied, because he refuses to sign a Document admitting to this Crime. You look at the statistics, this happens to one out of 5 Men , and they loose their freedom because of lies. She did'nt have nothing to gain by having Onis M. Kelley locked up, other than the attention that she recieved during the trial. Women that file false reports don't realize that in doing that , they prevent the one's that actually do get raped from being able to come forward.There should be a law that if you file a false Rape charge that you should have to do the Prison term, which is 10 years, a 70% minimum of the time to be done before you can be released. That would insure that maybe these women that file false reports would stop, and see how horrible it is on the Innocent to survive behind bars.

During the Trial , which was heald in Ashley County Arkansas, Hamburg. Onis M. Kelley was not Defended as he should have been. David Harrod, Of the Harrod Law Firm was his Attorney, he was not a Criminal Attorney. He is in deed an Estate Planner. He should never have taken this Case, someone else should have been appointed to represent Onis M. Kelley, someone with much more experience in Criminal Law.When asked to present Witnesses in Onis M. Kelley's Defense, he replied that it was'nt necessary, because the evidence would prove him not guilty. Indeed it did, but he was still convicted solely on Deanna George's Testimony, which was inconsistant . To start with, she claims that he repeatedly raped her for over an hour and a half, and still they made it to Monticello Ar, by 6am, which reluctantly is only an hour an a half from the time that they left the Night Club. All of this is in the Transcript.

Also, during the jury deliberations one of the jury members came out of the jury room, walk through the court room and was seen standing next to the Prosecuting Attorney (David Chambers) and Deanna George (alledged victim). This was brought to the attention of the Judge (Don Glover), he declared that there was no grounds for mistrial, also Two other jury members were seen outside smoking with members of the family, discussing the goings on of the Trial, that was also grounds for Mistrial, if the trial had been in any other Court.

The fact is that Onis M. Kelley is an Innocent Man doing time in an Arkansas Prison, he should have never been arrested for this at all. It has been stated that Deanna George has accused others of the same Crime, but neither of those men are serving time.If this is true, then this shows what kind of person she really is, and just what she is capable of doing. No-one should be subjected to this kind of Hell !!

Now, Onis M. Kelley is a Branded Man. For the rest of his life he will have to carry this Charge over his head, because of one selfish little Woman, that had to see a man suffer because of her words.No-matter what anyone may think , words can cause pain. Look for yourself to see how many innocent people has been released across the Country after spending decades behind bars, mostly because of false reports and lieing.It should be a Crime for an Innocent Man to serve even one day behind bars.

Think about how you would feel if you , or your Dad, maybe even your brother were accused of such a Crime , and knowing he was innocent you had to watch him do the time that Onis M. Kelley has had to do, even though he is Innocent.

Innocense is the issue in this story, Onis M. Kelley should be released because he is Innocent. The Family Of Onis M. Kelley reaches out to fellow Americans, not for charity, not for simpathy,but for their help to free Onis M. Kelley.
